A Support System Awaits You

The Postpartum Pampering Doula Standard

Meal Preparation

I make food with the intention of being deeply nutritious and genuinely comforting. I am keeping in mind the healing of your body post birth, the lack of sleep, the hormonal imbalances, and the powerhouse of nutrients and calories required to produce healthy breastmilk. You will discover a lot of inspiration drawn from Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine in my recipes.

Non-Judgmental Support

I believe that every parent is doing the best they can at any given time. It is never my goal to push a particular parenting style, newborn philosophy, or way of life upon you. My aim is to meet you exactly where you’re at- offer a listening ear + open heart.

Housekeeping

As your doula, I will focus on maintaining the sacred trio of the bedroom, kitchen, & bathroom. You can expect an extra helping hand to stay on top of laundry, dishes, & diaper trash. A tidy home makes for peace of mind.

Baby Care

I am a safe space for you to air out any questions. I will either share knowledge with you when appropriate, get back to you with responses from an extensive postpartum doula & infant care community, or refer you to a trustworthy lactation consultant/pelvic floor therapist/ etc. Of course I’m also here to step in for a diaper change, bottle feed, and soothing of the new babe when you simply need a break. My aim is to have you feeling reassured about your baby’s behavior and confident in your decisions around caretaking.

Bodywork

As you are busy taking care of this precious new life, there can be physical and emotional tension that comes with it. We can co-create a bodywork session tailored to you and your experience. I will draw from my toolbox of traditional postpartum ceremonies, herbal foot baths, TCM moxibustion, and Mayan womb massage.

Personalized Attention

Every birth experience is unique. I have a collection of herbal tinctures and salves to soothe afterpains, boost milk production, balance hormones, and ease hemorrhoids. These are all small batch products that come from my home apothecary.

My Vision

Postpartum Doula Chef cooking in kitchen with yellow apron, stirring yellow dish in blue pot on stove, surrounded by baked goods.

My name is Maggie Jacobson. I believe in a return to community care, especially when it comes to raising children. My career background is in teaching preschool, infant nannying, and teaching yoga. My personal life involves a lot of backyard gardening, mountain exploration, and creating things in the kitchen. It felt like a natural progression to become a Postpartum Doula.

I’ve studied with The Art of Sacred Postpartum, ProDoula, Be Her Village, Samma Karuna, and Naan Mimi as my Mayan Womb Massage teacher. However, I feel that many of my most useful practices developed while long term nannying for a family. This required a balance of holding space for the mother, helping to raise two beautiful children up from infancy, and staying on top of household chores.

As a doula, my primary intentions are to:

  • Support parent’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Create a safe, nurturing environment for baby to ground into.

  • Eliminate any obstacles that get in the way of goal 1 & 2.

My approach blends the sentimental and the practical- I want to listen to your birth story and fold the laundry. I created Postpartum Pampering as a platform to help families build a foundation of confidence, contentment, and connectedness in their homes.
